I'm going out today (see urbandruid) so I don't expect to get much t_m stuff done. Just so you guys know.

Email from draco_mun last night. Bellatrix Lestrange is mine! *cheers*

Of course, just as when I got Galen, I stayed up far too late trying to figure out a damned username, and went to bed with no ideas. Also woke up with no ideas. Why must all the simple ones, like her name, be taken? Bah! *pokes lj* I want something cool and descriptive, something that if it can't say her name, says who she is in some other way.

While I'm waiting for inspiration to strike me (or for suggestions from people) here are some thoughts on the character.

Bellatrix fascinates me because she's a female Death Eater, the female Death Eater. We haven't heard of any other ones, and I'm starting to think that we never will. She is eeevil, doesn't really care who knows it, and can probably kick just about anybody's ass.

Her name is Latin; it means "female warrior" according to something I read the other day. I think it's perfect.

My Bellatrix-

Is Bella to her nearest and dearest, including Lord Voldemort.
Went a bit crazy in Azkaban, but always had faith that the Dark Lord would rise again.
Was right about that, of course.
Has a lot of contempt for Lucius Malfoy because he lied to keep himself out of Azkaban.
Because she didn't do the same.
Was proud to admit who and what she was.
Does not give a damn what anyone else thinks.
With the exception of Voldemort.
Is slightly in love with Voldemort in her own crazy little way.
Got married because it was expected of her.
Married Rudolphus Lestrange because she wanted to.
Withstood Azkaban better than he did.
Is more devoted to the Dark Lord than anything else.
Loves her sister Narcissa.
Thinks Narcissa could have been stronger- more like her- if she had wanted to be.
No one mentions Andromeda around Bella; if asked, she only has one sister.
Nobody asked- she killed the last one.
Is pretty pissed at Andromeda.
Might have loved Andromeda more than Narcissa when they were children.
Had a privilaged, but somewhat empty childhood.
Loved her parents, who taught her her first Dark Arts.
Was under the Sorting Hat for all of about three seconds before it yelled out the predictable "Slytherin!"
Was ready to hex the hell out of the thing if it considered anything different, thus securing her place in the house of her choice.
Led the Slytherin girls when she was at school, but was on an entierly different level from most of them.
Is the eldest Black sister.
Knew most if not all of the secrets carried by her friends and her enemies.
Still does.
Even though some of the faces have changed.
Enjoyed torturing the Longbottoms.
Also enjoyed killing Sirius.
Was looking forward to using the Killing Curse on him, though.
Is one of the strongest of the Death Eaters.
Is feared greatly by the other DEs.
Is messed with only by the stupid and the suicidal.
Always ran with the boys and kept up.
Still does.
Is the only woman in the Death Eaters.
Is proud of this.
Has never, ever hidden her Dark Mark.
Got top-level OWLs and NEWTs, not that anybody cared.
